Question for written answer P-005149-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Rosa Estaràs Ferragut (PPE)

Subject:  Aid for the transport of goods
 Answer in writing

The press of the Balearic Islands has reported the intention of the government of the Balearic Islands to establish a system that ensures adequate aid for the transport of goods for industrial companies in the Balearic Islands up to a maximum of EUR 1 million per company per year.

It has also announced the intention of the government of the Balearic Islands together with the Spanish Government to initiate the procedures to modify the de minimis legislation on state aid so as to change the limit of EUR 200 000 for the islands.

1. Would the Commission be willing to amend the de minimis legislation and increase the threshold of EUR 200 000 as the three-year limit for companies based in the islands?

2. Has the Commission received any notification about this system of state aid for the transport of goods for industrial companies in the Balearic Islands?

3. Would the Commission approve a system such as the one described above that would allow the granting of EUR 1 million per company per year in aid?
