Blanket ban on the pesticide active substance glyphosate

In the Austrian Parliament, following a debate, a motion for a blanket ban on the pesticide active substance glyphosate was adopted on 2 July 2019. On the basis of the precautionary principle, it prohibits pesticides containing the active substance glyphosate from being placed on the market in Austria.

Does the Commission regard an immediate statutory blanket ban in Austria on the placing on the market of pesticides containing the active substance glyphosate as compatible with the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 and with Union acts based on that regulation?

Does the Commission agree that there should at least have been prior notification of such a measure in accordance with Directive (EU) 1535/2015?
