As a result of the swift reaction and coordination of all the stakeholders, a much needed temporary slot waiver was adopted in record time. This mobilisation and commitment to finding quick and fair solutions to alleviate pressure on the industry, while also avoiding unnecessary CO ₂ emissions, was extremely necessary.

Considering that traffic frequency is likely to remain below normal for several months, especially the frequency of trans-continental flight traffic, when will the Commission start assessing the need for a further extension of the waiver for the 2020/2021 winter season?

In addition, building on the recently finalised impact assessment it carried out, what type of long-term review of airport slot legislation is now being considered?
