Priority question for written answer  P-000117/2021
to the Council
Rule 138
João Ferreira (The Left)
Subject: Appointment of the European Prosecutor

Last July, the Council of the European Union appointed prosecutors from each Member State to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.

On 7 October, Portuguese media published a Council document (LT 171/20), justifying the appointment of the Portuguese prosecutor.

Can the Council say:

Of all the documents submitted by the Portuguese Government to launch the procedure for appointing its European Prosecutor, which did it use as the basis for its reasoning for the appointment? Was it the same reasoning as in the document published by Portuguese media?
