Priority question for written answer  P-002959/2021
to the Commission
Rule 138
Mislav Kolakušić (NI)
Subject: Declaration of interests of Commissioner Stella Kyriakides

In her declaration of interests, European Commissioner for Health Stella Kyriakides listed a number of management positions held by her husband, Kyriakos Kyriakides, but not his management position at Maralo Limited. According to information published by the Audit Office of the Republic of Cyprus, Kyriakos Kyriakides is the managing director of Maralo Limited and the company has received several million in loans. Given that Commissioner Stella Kyriakides is playing an important role in concluding the EU’s contracts with COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers and for the purposes of transparency in that process, I should like to ask:

1. Can the Commission confirm whether Kyriakos Kyriakides, the husband of Commissioner Stella Kyriakides, holds a management position at Maralo Limited and, if so, how long has he held that position?

2. Why was this position not mentioned in the Commissioner’s declaration of interests?

3. If the disputed allegations prove to be true, will the Commission initiate a dismissal procedure against Commissioner Stella Kyriakides for failure to provide accurate and complete information on her financial interests?
