7.3.2022
Priority question for written answer P-000917/2022
to the Commission
Rule 138
Silvia Sardone (ID)
One of the EU Commission objectives is to step up cooperation with third countries to facilitate the repatriation of irregular immigrants who repeatedly cross EU borders illegally. Repatriating illegal immigrants is of great importance when it comes to combating irregular migration and securing Member State borders. The European Court of Auditors has also issued a recent call for more decisive repatriation measures.
In view of this:
- 1.Can the Commission say how many people were ordered to leave the European Union in 2021?
- 2.How many people were repatriated to non-EU countries in 2021?
- 3.What were the five principal nationalities (in order of magnitude) of those ordered to leave the European Union in 2021?
