to the Commission
Rule 138
Sara Skyttedal (PPE)
On 9 December 2021, the Commission published new guidelines on the application of EU competition law to collective agreements regarding the working conditions of solo self-employed people.
These guidelines in essence exclude certain market players from the competition rules laid down in Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the Europe, which will naturally have an impact on, for example, prices, as well as supply and demand.
Against this background, I would like to ask the Commission the following:
- 1.What impact on the pricing power of start-up companies consisting of solo self-employed persons does the Commission envisage in the light of the new guidelines?
- 2.What does the Commission think will be the likely impact on the prices paid by consumers?
