The Commission and its Members have utmost respect for the European Parliament and its Members.

The Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement issued a public statement on the matter on 15 February 2023[1]. He expressed his regrets for the misunderstanding around his remark at the plenary session and reiterated his full respect of all EU institutions, including the European Parliament and its Honourable Members. The Commission has taken note of this statement and has nothing to add.
