In addition to its budgetary and legislative powers, Parliament also has the task of supervising the other EU institutions, including the Commission.
In this context, members of the College and representatives of the Commission are eager to appear at Parliament’s hearings and plenary sessions, fulfilling their responsibilities as the guardian of the Treaties, the executive of the EU and an institution accountable to Parliament.
In the light of this, we ask the Commission:
Commissioner Várhelyi represented the Commission at Parliament’s plenary session on 14 February 2023. In his humble opinion, how many idiots are at the European Parliament?
