The President reminded the House of the rules relating to the new arrangements for Question Time (Minutes of 18.01.2006, Item 11).

Parliament considered a number of questions to the Council (B6-0002/2006).

Part one

Question 1 (Dimitrios Papadimoulis): Accession negotiations with Serbia-Montenegro.

Hans Winkler (President-in-Office of the Council) answered the question and supplementaries by Dimitrios Papadimoulis, Bart Staes and Hubert Pirker.

Question 2 (Richard Corbett): Council President's criticism of the Court of Justice.

Hans Winkler answered the question and supplementaries by Richard Corbett, Reinhard Rack and Paul Rübig.

Question 3 (Vytautas Landsbergis): Estonia's border with Russia.

Hans Winkler answered the question and supplementaries by Vytautas Landsbergis, Richard Seeber and Bernd Posselt.

Question 4 (Proinsias De Rossa): Council voting in public.

Hans Winkler answered the question and supplementaries by Proinsias De Rossa, Richard Corbett and Gay Mitchell.

Question 5 (Laima Liucija Andrikienė): New financial perspective 2007-2013.

Question 6 (Bernd Posselt): The EU's energy dependence.
Question 7 (Gay Mitchell): Fuel security.

Martin Bartenstein (President-in-Office of the Council) answered the questions and supplementaries by Bernd Posselt, Gay Mitchell, Paul Rübig and Richard Seeber.

Question 8 lapsed as its author was absent.

Question 9 (Othmar Karas): Additional occupational pensions.

Martin Bartenstein answered the question and supplementaries by Othmar Karas, Hubert Pirker and Richard Seeber.

Questions which had not been answered for lack of time would receive written answers (see annex to the Verbatim Report of Proceedings).
