The following spoke: Thijs Berman, who outlined his wish to receive a reply to the letter he, along with other MEPs, had written to the President on 31 January 2007 with a view to holding an annual conference to honour the memory of the Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya (the President replied that his request would be passed on the the President of Parliament).
