5. Welcome

6. Need for a comprehensive strategy to control cancer (written declaration)

Written declaration 52/2007 submitted by Antonios Trakatellis, Françoise Grossetête, Karin Jöns, Philippe Busquin and Adamos Adamou on the need for a comprehensive strategy to control cancer had been signed by the majority of Parliament's component Members. Consequently, in accordance with Rule 116(4), it would be forwarded to its addressees and published, together with the names of the signatories, in the Texts Adopted of the sitting of 11.10.2007.


7. Request for the waiver of parliamentary immunity

The Austrian authorities had forwarded a request to waive the parliamentary immunity of Hans-Peter Martin.

Pursuant to Rule 6(2), the request had been referred to the committee responsible, the JURI Committee.


8. Agenda

At its meeting of the same morning, the Conference of Presidents had decided to propose the following amendments to the agenda of the sittings of 10.10.2007 and 11.10.2007.

Wednesday 10.10.2007

- a Council and Commission statement on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip was inserted after the debate on the report by Alain Lamassoure and Adrian Severin on the proposal to amend the Treaty provisions concerning the composition of the European Parliament (item 58 on the agenda)

Thursday 11.10.2007

- the vote on the motion for a resolution under Rule 81 on international accounting standards (B6-0157/2007 - item 39 on the agenda) was held over to the next part-session in Strasbourg;

- the report by Helmuth Markov on the conclusion of the relevant agreements under Article XXI GATS on the necessary compensatory adjustments resulting from 1995 and 2004 enlargements (INTA, A6-0340/2007) would be put to the vote pursuant to Rule 43(1).

The House agreed to the changes.
