The following spoke: Martin Schulz, on behalf of the PSE Group, requesting that the sitting be suspended at that point, on the basis of Rule 171, and that the explanations of vote be deferred to 22.00.

The President put the request to the vote.

The request for a suspension was approved by Parliament by electronic vote (133 in favour, 48 against, 2 abstentions).

The President stated that the time for giving explanations of vote would be announced at 15.00.
