5. Approval of the minutes of the previous sitting

Heinz Kindermann had informed the Presidency that he had been present but that his name was not on the attendance register.

The minutes of the previous sitting were approved.


6. Ending street homelessness (written declaration)

Written Declaration 0111/2007 by Mary Lou McDonald, Jacek Protasiewicz, Claude Moraes, Gérard Onesta and Jean Marie Beaupuy on ending street homelessness had been signed by the majority of Parliament's component Members. Consequently, in accordance with Rule 116(4), it would be forwarded to its addressees and published, together with the names of the signatories, in the Texts Adopted of the sitting of 22.04.2008.


7. Interpretation of the Rules of Procedure

The President informed the House, under Rule 201(3), of the following interpretation of Rule 116, provided by the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, which had been consulted on the application of that provision:

'The contents of a written declaration shall not go beyond the form of a declaration and shall not, in particular, contain any decision on matters for the adoption of which specific procedures and competences are laid down in the Rules of Procedure.'

If this interpretation was not contested by a political group or by at least 40 Members (Rule 201(4)) before the minutes of the current sitting were approved it would be deemed to have been adopted. Otherwise, the matter would be put to the vote in Parliament.


8. Communication of Council common positions

The President announced, pursuant to Rule 57(1), that the following common position had been received from the Council, together with the reasons which had led to its adoption, and the Commission's position on:

13. Corrections to votes and voting intentions

Corrections to votes and voting intentions appear on the 'Séance en direct' website under 'Votes'/'Results of votes'/'Roll-call votes'. They are published in hard copy in the Result of roll-call votes annex.

The electronic version on Europarl will be regularly updated for a maximum of two weeks after the day of the vote concerned.

After the two-week deadline has passed, the list of corrections to votes and voting intentions will be finalised so that it can be translated and published in the Official Journal.

14. Requests for waiver of immunity

The authorities of the Kingdom of Belgium had addressed a request to the President that the parliamentary immunity of Frank Vanhecke be waived on account of a criminal investigation launched by the Termonde Public Prosecutor.

The authorities of Poland had addressed a request to the President from a Polish citizen for the parliamentary immunity of Marek Siwiec to be waived.

Pursuant to Rule 6(2), the requests were referred to the committee responsible, the JURI Committee.
