16. Announcement by the President
The Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly had decided on 28 March 2008 to increase the number of its members by four following the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union. The number of Parliament's seats therefore increased from 45 to 49.

Catiuscia Marini had joined the PSE Group.

Diamanto Manolakou had tendered his resignation as a Member of the European Parliament with effect from 20.05.2008.
