12. Follow-up to a request for the defence of immunity
At its sitting of 16.06.2008, Parliament had noted the request by Witold Tomczak for the defence of his immunity and privileges in the context of a case pending before the district court of Ostrów Wielkopolski (minutes of 16.06.2008, item 5) and, under Rule 6(3), had referred the request to the committee responsible, the JURI Committee.
By letter of 05.08.2008 addressed to the President of Parliament, the chairman of the JURI Committee had stated that this request by Witold Tomczak must be deemed inadmissible, as the same matter had already been referred to Parliament on two previous occasions and Parliament had decided on 04.04.2006 (minutes of 04.04.2006, item 8.2) and on 19.02.2008 (minutes of 19.02.2008, item 6.13) not to defend Witold Tomczak's immunity.
