10. Request for the defence of parliamentary immunity

Aldo Patriciello had addressed a request to the Presidency calling for his immunity and privileges to be defended in the context of criminal proceedings under way at the Court of Campobasso (Italy).

Under Rule 6(3), the request had been referred to the committee responsible, the JURI Committee.


11. Communication of Council common positions

The President announced, pursuant to Rule 57(1), that the following common positions had been received from the Council, together with the reasons which had led to their adoption, and the Commission's position on:

Marios Matsakis then proposed a change to the wording of that oral amendment, which Charles Tannock opposed (the President noted this opposition and confirmed that only the text as modified by the oral amendment in its author's original wording would be put to the vote);

- Kathalijne Maria Buitenweg, on the procedure followed;

- Charles Tannock, who moved an oral amendment to recital D, which Marios Matsakis opposed (the President recalled the provisions in force on oral amendments), and which was accepted;

The following spoke: Véronique De Keyser, who asked about the way in which the political groups conduct negotiations on joint resolutions, Marios Matsakis, Proinsias De Rossa, who spoke out against what he viewed as an excessive use of oral amendments during the current voting time, Luisa Morgantini, Bernd Posselt, Marcin Libicki and Paulo Casaca, who referred to the remarks made by Luisa Morgantini.

The President stated that the remarks made on the use of oral amendments would be passed on to the relevant authorities, but that in any case the Rules had been followed correctly.

Corrections to votes and voting intentions appear on the 'Séance en direct' website under 'Votes'/'Results of votes'/'Roll-call votes'. They are published in hard copy in the Result of roll-call votes annex.

The electronic version on Europarl will be regularly updated for a maximum of two weeks after the day of the vote concerned.

After the two-week deadline has passed, the list of corrections to votes and voting intentions will be finalised so that it can be translated and published in the Official Journal.
