On 31 March and 1 April 2011, Luigi de Magistris had addressed two requeststo the President to defend his parliamentary immunity and privileges in connection with legal proceedings in progress before the courts in Catanzaro and Naples respectively.
Pursuant to Rule 6(3) of the Rules of Procedure, the requests had been referred to the Committee on Legal Affairs, the committee responsible.
