9. Establishing a European cardiac arrest awareness week (written declaration)

10. Announcements by the President

The President returned to the case of Asmaa Mahfouz (minutes of 11.6.2012, item 10), who had been acquitted in Cairo. He forwarded Asmaa Mahfouz's thanks; the support she had received from Parliament had helped her case.

Following the Council's decision to unilaterally change the legal basis for the Schengen evaluation mechanism and the decision taken that day by a large majority in the Conference of Presidents, the President announced that Parliament was suspending all cooperation with the Council on related procedures, pending a common procedure between the Council and Parliament. He also announced that the reports by Carlos Coelho and Renate Weber had been withdrawn from July's agenda.
