The French authorities had sent the following information.
In accordance with French legislation on the election of the Members of the European Parliament, Nora Berra, elected in the South-East constituency and replaced in the European Parliament by Michel Dantin while she held the office of State Secretary in the French Government, had taken up her mandate as Member of the European Parliament with effect from 16 June 2012.
Damien Abad and Estelle Grelier had been elected Members of the French National Assembly. Parliament noted that under Article 7(2) of the Act of concerning the election of the members of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage, this office was incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament and that their seats were vacant with effect from 17 June 2012.
Isabelle Thomas had been elected a Member of the European Parliament to replace Stéphane Le Foll with effect from 16 May 2012.
Jean-Louis Cottigny had been elected a Member of the European Parliament to replace Estelle Grelier with effect from 17 June 2012.
Michel Dantin had been elected a Member of the European Parliament to replace Damien Abad with effect from 17 June 2012.
Under Rule 3(2), until such time as their credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that they had previously made a written declaration stating that they did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Nora Berra, Isabelle Thomas, Jean-Louis Cottigny and Michel Dantin would take their seats in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.
