Michael Theurer, on behalf of the ALDE Group, asked for a roll-call vote on paragraph 8, and Giovanni La Via (rapporteur) who objected to this.

After the vote, Andreas Mavroyiannis (President-in-Office of the Council) noted that Parliament had approved the Council's position on the draft budget for the financial year 2013, without amendment, and welcomed the result.

He made a brief statement on the work of the Cyprus Presidency.

The President agreed with what Andreas Mavroyiannis had said and made the following statement:

'The budget procedure has been completed in accordance with Article 314 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. I declare that the budget for the financial year 2013 has been definitively adopted'.
