The President clarified the budget vote, in particular the content of the joint statements of the three institutions agreed within the context on the negotiations on the 2013 budget, which formed an annex to the report by Giovanni La Via and Derek Vaughan (A7-0410/2012). After establishing that the Council and Commission had no objections to these statements, he signed them.

After the vote, Andreas Mavroyiannis (President-in-Office of the Council) noted that Parliament had approved the Council's position on the draft budget for the financial year 2013, without amendment, and welcomed the result.
He made a brief statement on the work of the Cyprus Presidency.
