The following spoke: Sylvie Guillaume to request, on behalf of the S&D Group, that the LIBE Committee be asked for its opinion on whether the series of amendments to the Constitution adopted the previous day by the Hungarian Parliament were compatible with the fundamental principles and legislation of the European Union; Gabriele Zimmer, returning to the point raised at the opening of the previous day's sitting, to ask on behalf of the GUE/NGL Group that the President send an official protest to the Moroccan authorities against the expulsion of Parliament's delegation to Western Sahara; Guy Verhofstadt to ask – referring to Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union – that the possible violation of fundamental rights by the amendments to the Hungarian Constitution be entered on the following day's agenda; József Szájer to oppose that request, referring to Article 4 of the Treaty on European Union; and Rui Tavares, referring to Article 2 of the Treaty, to ask the Commission to focus its efforts on a dialogue with Hungary on fundamental rights (the President in the Chair noted the request for a change to the agenda and said she would put it to the President of Parliament).
