COMMISSION PROPOSAL

Rejected

The following spoke: Neelie Kroes (Vice-President of the Commission), who noted that the Commission proposal had been rejected as a result of the adoption of Amendment 20, and József Szájer, to request that a vote on the draft legislative resolution be held, in accordance with Rule 56(3). Parliament rejected that proposal by roll call vote (300 for, 343 against, 61 abstentions). The matter was thus deemed to be referred back to the committee responsible.
