6. Statement by the President

The following spoke:

- Hannes Swoboda, to pay tribute to the former President of Cyprus, Glafcos Clerides, who had died on Friday;

- Giommaria Uggias, Francesca Barracciu, Claudio Morganti and Claude Turmes on the floods in Sardinia following cyclone Cleopatra;

- Jean-Marie Cavada to pay tribute to the two French journalists murdered in Mali, Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon.

The President made a statement on the murder of the two French journalists in Mali. He paid tribute to journalists who are victims of war, persecution, oppression and terrorism throughout the world. He expressed Parliament's solidarity with the families of the two journalists.

The President concurred with the earlier speeches on the situation in Sardinia and expressed Parliament's solidarity with the families of the victims of the floods in Sardinia.

Parliament observed a minute's silence.


7. Corrigendum (Rule 216)

The committee responsible had forwarded the following corrigendum to a text adopted by Parliament:

Corrigendum P7_TA-PROV(2013)0115(COR02) to Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013 on prudential requirements for credit institutions and investment firms and amending Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 (OJ L 176, 27.6.2013, p. 1) (position of the European Parliament adopted at first reading on 16 April 2013 with a view to the adoption of the above regulation P7_TA-PROV(2013)0115 (COM(2011)0452 – C7-0417/2011 – 2011/0202(COD)).

Pursuant to Rule 216(4), this corrigendum would be deemed approved unless, within 24 hours, a request was made by a political group or at least 40 Members that it be put to the vote.

The corrigendum would be available on the Séance en direct website during the current part-session.
