The Committee on Constitutional Affairs' interpretation of Rules 166, 167(1) and 195(3) had been announced in plenary the previous day (minutes of 14.4.2014, item 7).
As the interpretation had not been contested by a political group or at least 40 Members, in accordance with Rule 211(4) this interpretation was deemed to have been adopted (P7_TA(2014)0396).
3. Composition of Parliament
The French authorities had given notice of the election of Christine Revault d'Allonnes Bonnefoy to replace Harlem Désir with effect from 9 April 2014.
Under Article 7(1) of the Act of 20 September 1976 concerning the election of the representatives of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage and Article 4(1) and (4) of the Rules of Procedure, Parliament noted the election of Christine Revault d'Allonnes Bonnefoy with effect from 9 April 2014.
Under Rule 3(2), until such time as her credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that she had previously made a written declaration stating that she did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Christine Revault d'Allonnes Bonnefoy would take her seat in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.
