9. Appointment of the European Data Protection Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor

The President announced that in accordance with Article 42 of Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000, at its meeting of 27 November 2014 and following discussions in the LIBE Committee, the Conference of Presidents had approved the joint appointment by the Parliament and the Council of Giovanni Buttarelli as the European Data Protection Supervisor and of Wojciech Rafał Wiewiórowski as the Assistant Supervisor.

The President and the President-in-Office of the Council would together sign the decision appointing them.
