5. Transfers of appropriations

In accordance with Rule 27, the Council of the European Union had informed the budgetary authority that the Commission transfer of appropriations DEC 54/2014 had been approved.

In accordance with Article 13(2)(a) of the Financial Regulation, the European External Action Service had informed the budgetary authority that appropriations from its 2014 budget - line 20101 and line 3003 - had been carried over to 2015.

In accordance with Article 27(3) of the Financial Regulation, the Committee on Budgets had approved at its meeting of 5 February 2015 the draft submitted by the Commission concerning the transfer of appropriations DEC 1/2015.

The President said that hundreds of migrants were reported to have lost their lives when a boat had sunk to the south of Sicily. She deeply regretted this further tragedy and said that Parliament would do all in its power to prevent a repeat of such events.
