1. Resumption of the session

The sitting opened at 17.05.


2. Statements by the President

The President made a statement on the terrorist attacks in Paris on 13 November 2015 and Bamako on 20 November 2015.

Parliament observed a minute's silence in homage to the victims of terrorism.

The President paid tribute to the former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, who had died on 10 November 2015.


3. Approval of the minutes of the previous sitting

The minutes of the previous sitting were approved.


4. Composition of Parliament

Marek Józef Gróbarczyk and Dawid Bohdan Jackiewicz had been appointed members of the Polish Government. Parliament noted that pursuant to Article 7(1) of the Act concerning the election of the Members of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage, this office was incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament and that their seats had become vacant with effect from 16 November 2015.


5. Request for the waiver of parliamentary immunity

The Polish authorities had forwarded a request to waive the parliamentary immunity of Bolesław G. Piecha in relation to procedures pending in respect of an administrative offence.

Pursuant to Rule 9(1), the request had been referred to the committee responsible, the JURI Committee.


6. Signature of acts adopted under the ordinary legislative procedure (Rule 78)

The President announced that on Wednesday, 25 November 2015, together with the President of the Council, he would sign the following acts adopted under the ordinary legislative procedure:

- Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council repealing Council Directive 76/621/EEC relating to the fixing of the maximum level of erucic acid in oils and fats and Council Regulation (EC) No 320/2006 establishing a temporary scheme for the restructuring of the sugar industry (00053/2015/LEX - C8-0365/2015 - 2015/0090(COD));

10. Order of business

The final draft agenda for the November II 2015 sittings (PE 571.857/PDOJ) had been distributed and the following changes had been proposed (Rule 152):

Monday

Request by the GUE/NGL Group to wind up the debate on A new animal welfare strategy for 2016-2020 (item 79 of the final draft agenda) with the tabling of motions for resolutions, which would be put to the vote on Thursday.
