17. Establishment of a commission of enquiry

In accordance with Rule 198, the Conference of Presidents had received a request, submitted by 283 Members, for the establishment of a commission of enquiry into emission measurements in the automotive sector.

At its meeting that afternoon, the Conference of Presidents had found the request to have been properly submitted by over a quarter of Parliament's Members and had decided to submit to plenary a proposal for a decision on the make-up, remit, size and duration of mandate of the commission.

The proposal for a decision (B8-1424/2015) was available on Europarl.

Parliament would be invited to vote on the proposal at the beginning of voting time the following day.

Deadline for submission of amendments to the proposal to the Conference of Presidents concerning the size of the commission: Wednesday, 16 December 2015 at 20.00.

The vote on appointments to the commission would take place on 19 January 2016.
