13. Council position at first reading

The President announced that, in accordance with Rule 64(1) the following position had been received from the Council, together with the reasons which had led to its adoption, and the Commission's position on:

- Position of the Council at first reading with a view to the adoption of a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on transmissible animal diseases and amending and repealing certain acts in the area of animal health ("Animal Health Law") (11779/1/2015 - C8-0008/2016 – 2013/0136(COD) - 14903/1/2015 – COM(2015)0638)

The three-month period available to Parliament to adopt its position would therefore begin the following day (22 January 2016).
