9. Composition of Parliament
Timothy Kirkhope had given notice in writing of his resignation as Member of Parliament, with effect from 6 October 2016.
In accordance with Rule 4(1) and (3), Parliament had noted that the seat was vacant from that date and had informed the national authority concerned.
10. Amendment of the agenda
The President announced that, in accordance with Annex XVI to the Rules of Procedure, the Conference of Presidents had declared the hearing procedure for the Commissioner-designate Sir Julian King closed, and had decided to put his appointment to the vote in plenary.
Under Rule 152(2), the President moved that the proposal on the appointment of Sir Julian King be put to the vote at voting time that day.
Parliament approved the proposal.
The agenda was amended to that effect.
