7. Sakharov Prize 2016 (announcement of the winners)

The President announced that the Conference of Presidents had decided to award the 2016 Sakharov Prize to two members of the Iraqi Yazidi community, Nadia Murad Basee and Lamiya Aji Ashar, who had escaped from Islamic State (IS).

The prize-giving ceremony would take place in Strasbourg during the December part-session.
