2. Approval of the minutes of the previous sitting

The minutes of the previous sitting were approved.

Michela Giuffrida had been present at the sittings of 15 July 2014 and 12 November 2014, but her name did not appear on the attendance register.

Michela Giuffrida pointed out that she had been present at the sittings of 20 October 2014 and 12 January 2015, but her name did not appear on the attendance register.

3. Composition of Parliament

The competent authorities of Croatia had given notification of the election of Ivica Tolić and Željana Zovko as Members of the European Parliament to replace Andrej Plenković and Davor Ivo Stier with effect from 24 October 2016.

Parliament took note of their election.

Under Rule 3(2), until such time as their credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that they had previously made a written declaration stating that they did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Ivica Tolić and Željana Zovko would take their seats in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.

The competent authorities of Germany had given notification of the election of Tiemo Wölken as a Member of the European Parliament to replace Matthias Groote.

Parliament took note with effect from 14 November 2016.

Under Rule 3(2), until such time as his credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that he had previously made a written declaration stating that he did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Tiemo Wölken would take his seat in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.


4. Composition of political groups

Diane James was no longer a member of the EFDD Group and would sit with the non-attached Members as of 19 November 2016.


5. Composition of committees and delegations

The President had received the following requests for appointments from the PPE, ALDE and GUE/NGL Groups:
