The minutes of the previous sitting were approved.
3. Composition of Parliament
The German authorities had given notice of the election of Arndt Kohn to replace Martin Schulz as Member of Parliament with effect from 24 February 2017.
Under Rule 3(2), until such time as his credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that he had previously made a written declaration stating that he did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Arndt Kohn would take his seat in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.
4. Verification of credentials
On a proposal by the JURI Committee, Parliament decided to confirm the validity of the mandates of José Ignacio Salafranca Sánchez-Neyra, with effect from 3 January 2017, and Peter Kouroumbashev, with effect from 17 January 2017.
5. Composition of committees and delegations
At the request of the S&D and ENF Groups, Parliament ratified the following appointments:

6. Negotiations ahead of Parliament's first reading (Rule 69d)
The President announced that the INTA and PECH Committees had decided to enter into interinstitutional negotiations, in accordance with Rule 69:
— INTA Committee, on the basis of Parliament’s position adopted at first reading on 16 April 2014 with a view to the adoption of Regulation (EU) No .../2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Council Regulation (EC) No 1225/2009 on protection against dumped imports from countries not members of the European Community and Council Regulation (EC) No 597/2009 on protection against subsidised imports from countries not members of the European Community (2013/0103(COD) - P7_TA(2014)0420);
