2. Negotiations ahead of Parliament's first reading (Rule 69c)
The President announced that she had received a request pursuant to Rule 69c(2), from the ECR and PPE Groups and a number of Members, for Parliament to hold a vote on the LIBE Committee's decision to enter into interinstitutional negotiations on the basis of the report on the proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning respect for private life and the protection of personal data in electronic communications and repealing Directive 2002/58/EC (Regulation on Privacy and Electronic Communications) (COM(2017)0010 – C8-0009/2017 – 2017/0003(COD)) Rapporteur: Marju Lauristin (A8-0324/2017), announced in the minutes of Monday, 23 October 2017 (minutes of 23.10.2017, item 10).
The vote on the LIBE Committee's decision to enter into interinstitutional negotiations would be held the following day, Thursday, 26 October 2017.
The President announced that she had not received any requests, from Members or from one or more political groups, which met the threshold requirement in respect of the other decisions to enter into interinstitutional negotiations announced in the minutes ofMonday, 23 October 2017 (minutes of 23.10.2017, item 10).
The committees in question were therefore able to enter into negotiations following the expire of the deadline provided for in Rule 69c(2).
