The sitting opened at 15.04.


3. Approval of the minutes of the previous sitting

The minutes of the previous sitting were approved.


4. Welcome

On behalf of Parliament, the President welcomed a delegation from the Irish Council of Churches, who had taken their seats in the distinguished visitors' gallery.


5. Composition of political groups

Sorin Moisă was no longer a member of the S&D Group, having left on 22 November 2017, and had joined the PPE Group as of 29 November 2017.


6. Verification of credentials

On a proposal by the JURI Committee, Parliament decided to validate the mandates of Members Jiří Payne, Nosheena Mobarik, Răzvan Popa, Asim Ahmedov Ademov, Lívia Járóka and Rory Palmer with effect from 5 September 2017, 8 September 2017, 13 September 2017, 14 September 2017, 15 September 2017 and 3 October 2017, respectively.

9. Signature of acts adopted under the ordinary legislative procedure (Rule 78)

The President informed the House that, together with the President of the Council, the President of Parliament would, the following day, sign two acts adopted under the ordinary legislative procedure:

- Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) 2016/399 as regards the use of the Entry/Exit System (00046/2017/LEX – C8-0410/2017-2016/0105(COD))

- Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing an Entry/Exit System (EES) to register entry and exit data and refusal of entry data of third-country nationals crossing the external borders of the Member States and determining the conditions for access to the EES for law enforcement purposes, and amending the Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement and Regulations (EC) No 767/2008 and (EU) No 1077/2011 (00047/2017/LEX - C8-0411/2017 – 2016/0106(COD))
