The following had spoken:

Esteban González Pons submitted an oral amendment adding a new paragraph after paragraph 4. The oral amendment was accepted.

The President made the following statement after the vote:

'It is a pleasure to announce that the European Parliament recognises Juan Guaidó as the legitimate interim President of Venezuela.

The European Parliament is the first EU institution to do so. We urge Member States and the High Representative to do the same as soon as possible in order to have a united and strong position.'
