2. Announcement by the President

Following the conclusions of the Advisory Committee dealing with harassment complaints between accredited parliamentary assistants and Members at the European Parliament, taking into account the written observations of the Member concerned and after hearing that Member, the President had decided to impose a penalty on Maria João Rodrigues, under Rule 11(6) and Rule 166, as a result of her behaviour towards her accredited parliamentary assistant, which constituted psychological harassment. The penalty was a reprimand.

The Member concerned had been informed of the decision the previous day. She would be able to lodge an internal appeal under Rule 167. This would suspend the application of the penalty.
