6. Composition of Parliament

The German authorities had given notice of the election of Manuela Ripa to replace Klaus Buchner as Member of Parliament with effect from 16 July 2020.

Following the judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 19 December 2019, and in view of the decision of Spain's Junta Electoral Central of 3 January 2020 and the decision of Spain's Tribunal Supremo of 9 January 2020, Parliament noted the election as a Member of the European Parliament of Jordi Solé i Ferrando with effect from 3 January 2020 to replace Oriol Junqueras i Vies, whose seat had been declared vacant with effect from 3 January 2020.

Parliament took note of their election.

Under Rule 3(2), until such time as their credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that they had previously made a written declaration stating that they did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Manuela Ripa and Jordi Solé i Ferrando would take their seats in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.
