5. Composition of Parliament

Petra de Sutter had been appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Civil Service and Public Enterprises in the Belgian Government as of 1 October 2020.

Parliament noted that, in accordance with Article 7(1) of the Act concerning the election of members of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage, the office was incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament and, in accordance with Rule 4(1) and (4) of the Rules of Procedure, declared Ms de Sutter’s seat vacant as of 1 October 2020.
