The competent Latvian authorities had forwarded a request for the waiver of the immunity of Nils Ušakovs with a view to initiating judicial proceedings against him for acts potentially constituting a violation of the Latvian law on the circulation of goods of strategic significance. Pursuant to Rule 9(1), the request had been referred to the committee responsible, the JURI Committee. |
