7. Extension of the mandate of the Committee of Inquiry on the Protection of Animals during Transport
The President announced that at its meeting of 13 January 2021, the Conference of Presidents had approved the request of the Committee of Inquiry on the Protection of Animals during Transport for its term of office to be extended by three months.
That extension was required in order for the committee to fully and properly fulfil its mandate as adopted by Parliament on 19 June 2020.
If there are no objections within 24 hours following this announcement, the extension would be deemed to have been approved. Otherwise, it would be put to the vote.
