On the occasion of the Giorno del ricordo in Italy, the President paid tribute to the victims of the foibe massacres and to the people of Dalmatia, Fiume and Istria forced into exile at the end of the Second World War. He said there was a duty to remember the victims of that tragedy, and stressed the importance of the process of integration between democratic countries.
