2. Negotiations ahead of Parliament’s first reading (Rule 71) (action taken)

The decisions of the EMPL and CULT committees to enter into interinstitutional negotiations had been announced on 22 November 2021 (minutes of 22.11.2021, item 7).

A request pursuant to Rule 71(2) had been made by Members to put the EMPL Committee’s decision to the vote in Parliament.

The vote would take place the following day, 25 November 2021.

As no requests for votes pursuant to Rule 71(2) had been made in respect of the CULT Committee’s decision, the committee had been able to begin negotiations upon expiry of the relevant deadline.
