3. Statement by the President
The President made a statement on the terrorist attack that shocked the city of Strasbourg on 11 December 2018. He recalled our duty to defend the values and freedoms that are the foundation of our pluralist, diverse and inclusive society.
Parliament observed a minute’s silence in memory of the victims.
4. Approval of the minutes of the previous sittings
The minutes of the sittings of 23, 24, 25 and 26 November 2021 were approved.
5. Composition of Parliament
Johan Danielsson had given notice of his appointment as the Swedish Government’s Minister for Housing and Deputy Minister for Employment.
Parliament noted that, pursuant to Article 7(1) of the Act of 20 September 1976 concerning the election of the members of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage, the office was incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, and pursuant to Rule 3(2)(2), and Rule 4 (1) and (4), Parliament established that the seat would be vacant as of 30 November 2021.

Evelyne Gebhardt had given notice in writing of her resignation as a Member of Parliament, with effect from 2 February 2022.
Pursuant to Rule 4(1), (2) and (6), Parliament established the vacancy of her seat with effect from that date and informed the relevant national authorities thereof.

The German authorities had given notice of the election of Karsten Lucke to replace Norbert Neuser as Member of Parliament with effect from 11 January 2022.
Parliament took note of his election.
Under Rule 3(2), until such time as his credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that he had previously made a written declaration stating that he did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Karsten Lucke would take his seat in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.
6. Composition of political groups
Michal Wiezik was no longer a member of the PPE Group and had joined the Renew Group as of 8 December 2021.
Dorien Rookmaker was no longer sitting with the non-attached Members and had joined the ECR Group as of 8 December 2021.

The document will be regularly updated in the two weeks following the part-session concerned.
After those two weeks, the list of corrections to votes and voting intentions will be finalised so that it can be translated and published in the Official Journal.
