Before signing the budget for the financial year 2023, the President made the following statement:

‘The joint text agreed by the Conciliation Committee on 14 November 2022 has now been approved by both Parliament and the Council. The budgetary procedure for the financial year 2023 can thus be deemed to have been completed. The Union’s general budget for the financial year 2023 is definitively adopted.’

The President signed the budget in the presence of Johan Van Overtveldt (Chair of the BUDG Committee) and Nicolae Ştefănuță and Niclas Herbst (rapporteurs for the general budget 2023).
