6. Negotiations ahead of Parliament’s first reading (Rule 71) (action taken)
The decisions of the ECON, IMCO, ITRE and EMPL committees to enter into interinstitutional negotiations had been announced on 11 September 2023 (minutes of 11.9.2023, item 11).
A request for a vote in Parliament had been made by Members, in accordance with Rule 71(2), on the decision of the ITRE Committee.
Since no requests for vote had been made pursuant to Rule 71(2) concerning the other decisions, the committees responsible had been able to begin negotiations after the expiry of the deadline set.
