The decisions of the ECON and EMPL committees to enter into interinstitutional negotiations had been announced on 15 January 2024 (minutes of 15.1.2024, item 10).
Pursuant to Rule 71(2), the Verts/ALE and The Left groups had requested a vote in Parliament on the ECON Committee’s decision.
Since no request for a vote pursuant to Rule 71(2) had been made in respect of the decision of the EMPL Committee, it was able to begin negotiations upon expiry of the deadline set.
