(Assent procedure) - having regard to the proposal for a decision of the Council and, concerning the Agreement on scientific and technical cooperation, of the Commission (7260/2000 - COM(1999) 229 - C5-0204/2000 ), - having regard to the draft Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on mutual recognition in relation to conformity assessment (9755/1999), - having regard to the Council's request for Parliament's assent pursuant to Article 300(3), second subparagraph, in conjunction with Article 310 of the EC Treaty (C5-0203/2000 ), - having regard to Rules 86 and 97(7) of its Rules of Procedure, - having regard to the recommendation of the Committee on Industry, External Trade, Research and Energy and the opinions of the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Internal Market (A5-0118/2000 ), 1. Gives its assent to the conclusion of the Agreement; 2. Instructs its President to forward its position to the Council and Commission, and the governments and parliaments of the Member States and of the Swiss Confederation. |
